![]() Getting more recording done!Well, we are back at Heavyweight studios to finish up our upcoming LP named "In The Tree, There Is A Bird That Sings". One plan that we have is to record live a cd of our set in the studio, to capture our live feel on cd, as well as doing studio versions of new songs. A tenitive song list goes as.
Here We Are Everyday I Dont Care Ordinary I Get It I Believe Disconnected A few more songs in the process of being written, we are excited to get this all down into one solid lineup of music to give to you, the fans! so keep coming out to the shows and show support for us, and for any local band trying to get somewhere. Coming up soon... Possible tour back to New England in Jan, with more dates and places than before. We only want to keep adding new cities and towns to our tours, so if you want us to come to your town, write us on the guestbook or on myspace (http://www.myspace.com/20wttwentyweight). Later! -Dave Hanging with SavinoOur buddy Jimmy Savino (who we've known from years past @ F.S.U - that's right Semen Holes !!!) arrived at our show during our last song of our last set - adding to the "better late than never " cliche' ! He was drizunk which is just as well cuz so were we ! We hung out at the club for awhile while Little Dave hung with some of his old friends - pictures will be posted - We went to the corner store (the Bodega ,prounced Bo-Day -Gah) and grabbed some beers for the long drive from New York City to Long Island where Jimmy runs a deli/bar by Deer Park. We hung out at his bar for a few hours enjoying all the drink and eat that we could bear. Some nice cops asked us if we were okay ,but we assured them we were'nt trying to rob the place. We took some more pics and partied with a good friend that we haven't seen in a long time - it's funny how we go from state to state and always manage to find someone from the past - I guess it really is a small world after all.
After the festivities, and Jimmy realized he had to open the deli in about three hours , we figured we'ld better high-tail it out of there and find someplace where we could lay our weary heads for a bit.We pulled out the map and headed for a little park , pulled in , and found a little nook where we set up some tents and made ourselves comatose. We were woken up at about 8am to the sound of people laughing (apparently at us) and discovered that we weren't in a park, but in a horse trail. The lady who owned the horse place rode out on her beautiful steed and caught Dave standing in his boxer shorts - hungover as could be. He apologized for being "unnatural" she laughed and said her kids used to camp there all the time, and we felt very welcome for tresspassing on her property.WOW ! COOL ! FREE PLACE TO CRASH !! July 9th - New York CityRemmember how I said that driving 8 hours before a show was sucky ? Well, not when your driving to the big fuckin' apple ! It relly was a pretty quick trip with lots of shit to check out this way and that - we learned that ther really is no good time to drive through Washington D.C traffic - they should move all our politicians to Alaska - figure they're cold blooded assholes in the first place they should fit right in with the climate - that's a whole other blog. Oh - we forgot to mention that Richmond Virginia is a pretty damn cool city so if you live in that area - make sure to check us out next time cuz we're definately stopping there. - Anyhow - I'm babbling. So after bullshitting our way through D.C , the states start going by pretty quick and after ripping over the Delaware bridge (having to pay to drive over a fucking bridge with no alternate route is fucking retarded -How do the Delawarites deal with that shit) things get pretty exciting. - Jersey rules except for the tolls - cha-ching !!! Aren't those supposed to pay for new roads? Start paving Uncle Sam !When you first catch a glimpse of the New York city skyline, it's exhilerating - really gives you an idea of how small other cities are in other states , and how part of you would really love to live in a city that never sleeps (I know I was wondering how many pubs must be in that fuckin' place and how long it would take me to drink a beer in every single one - or would I die of liver failure first ?) Us small town boys in the Big City - imagine that.
We pulled up to the club at about 7:30 which is located right next to Bleeker Street - the heart of Greenwich Village , and there were people EVERYWHERE, like little ants going this way and that - it was crazy. Little Dave used his skills to grab us a parking spot right in front of the club , which as you other bands out there know - a fucking miracle. We were greetd at the door by the nice , young , inefficient, inept , snotty brat named Jen who retardedly mispelled our name on their website and still managed to misspell it right next to our flipping poster on the door of the club.Of course the stupid %^%$ took no responsibility , but hey that wasn't going to stop our good time ! What stopped our good time was that beers are farking 7.00 in the Big Rotten Apple - remember how we judge a venue folks - Sullivan Hall - not cool ! We played a great show however and met a lot of cool new faces - the staff and owner of the place definately were wondering why we were'nt playing on a weekend - we said ask that stupid "promoter" JEN - he said he would fire her - I so hope she reads this. The night was'nt over there folks - next blog to be continued !!! Tour !Wow ! We are officially home from our little extravaganza up the East Coast , and while gas prices were high we managed to stay fed and pretty damn high. There were so many things we saw thet we'll never be able to explain (or remember for that matter) , but we'll try to do a little recap of the events that transpired - so many people have been asking us to post something , but we just needed a little time to soak it all in.
- On July 7th we left Jacksonville and headed north (North Miss Teshmocker , North !) to North Carolina. We wanted to get some miles behind us beforehand cuz nothing sucks worse than playing a show after an 8 hour drive. So we checked in with our old friends Mencken and Adina (who just had a new baby named Ari by the way). They allowed us to stay at their beautiful home in Durham, and we just had to take the opportunity to get loose and throw down some beers with people we went to college with - by the way Mencken can sure handle his Jim Beam ! Mencken's brother Adam was there as well and he and Dave really enjoyed each others company on the back porch everyday at about 4:20 ! The next day we enjoyed our hangovers by eating sushi at a very awesome place right down the street from the venue we were playing at - so that was a bonus, and a great pick-me-up for the show. We played our first show at The Cave in Chapel Hill ,North Carolina on July 8th . We were the only act performing so we pretty much had control of the whole event and made ourselves prepared to play a good 3 - 4 hour set. Hey , we're 20WT we can handle dat shit. When we get these damn pictures posted you'll see what the club was like - it literally is a cave.We didn't have many people there, but a nice man from Mansion 462 (the club next door) thought that his boss would like us to play at their venue next time we come to town - so he went and dragged his boss to see us play, and WOW ! That nice man thought we were a good rock and roll band and asked us to play at the Mansion next time around. We said thankya ! The staff at The Cave were very friendly and made it a point to sell us our Pabst for only 1.00 ! Dave was very excited ! This is the way ,we decided later, how to adequately judge a venue ! Made perfect sense to us ! And the next morning we woke up at the crack of noon , said goodbye to our friends and began the 8 hou jouney to New York - remember that math folks cuz it will come in handy later ! FMF '08This past weekend, 20WT was invited to go down to Orlando and experience the Florida Music Festival. The festival hosts 280 bands or so at 16 different venues in a 3 day span. We weren't supposed to perform, but got invited to after a band cancelled. Lets just say, this opportunity did not go to waste. Thanks to all that supported us at our 2 shows down in Orange County. A big ups go to all of our friends we got to experience this with - Paul (and the rest of Last Human Alive- Jose, Eddie, Trenton, Jessie), Megan (for the hospitality!), JP, The Savi Fernandez Band, Seeking Sui, The Bastard Suns, The Attack, Victims of Circumstance, User Sets Mode+, Deiter, Christina Wagner, and anyone else we forgot!
