Hello everyone! It has been a long time since we've updated the blog, but after taking a break for the holidays we are coming back in full force!!

Recent News: To everyone who came out to The Lions Den for our show with Self Employed, WE THANK YOU! This was a show that had the potential to possibly not happen, but the police/city were nice enough to let us rock the night as planned. Self Employed played an amazing set. The crowd (the venue is based in Arlington, Jacksonville, FL) was very welcoming of them! Once we got on stage, I think it's safe to say everyone was enjoying themselves! So, THANK YOU ALL again.

Now on to new news, we will be heading back to the studio to do some work that will be released at some point soon. I (Dave) am not sure what I'm at liberty to discuss. We will all be in touch as far as the social networking goes so more information will be coming soon :)

We'd like to also tell everyone that the merch page is constantly growing with a greater selection of shirt styles and random must-haves. Don't forget to stop by and check out all we have to offer.

The video for 20WT's new single "All About You" is complete and they are having a screening/party at Ryan's crib on Saturday , August 20th. The video will air at 9pm. " It's going to be fun , we're just looking to have a good time with the people that were involved in the process of making this video . " quoted J.Hooks " The people that were in the video only know the parts they were involved in , so it's gonna be cool to show them the big picture." When asked about the actual release date of the video , Ryan Wilson responded " We're thinking Tuesday , August 23rd , why wait any longer ? The fact is that we want to push this thing and push it hard. We want people spreading this thing like the common cold. The sooner the better ! " In other news , 20WT has begun filming a documentary which will feature the band's writing process and daily life , while incorporating a new single into the mix. This should be interesting.

Everyone's been asking and now we're doing it. We are playing w/ the Supervillains in Sanford,Fl. on July 30th - This show is absolutely 100% FREE. it's going to be one humdinger of a show (and i don't use that word lightly). For those who haven't been introduced to Tim Dougherty , our newest member on the keyboards , you need to come out and feel the new vibe.We are still working in the studio and are making rapid progress towards wrapping this baby up - then it's on to the next. You know us - we're always up to something.Idle hands are the devil's plaything. The video "All About You" is in the final stages of editing and stay tuned for a private party/screening of the video at J or Ryan's house. We will need the entire Frog Army to step up and help us promote the shit out of it.We'll be letting everyone know how they can help.in the meantime , watch our calendar and we'll see everyone at the Supervillains/20WT show! What a kick ass weekend it was. We wrote,directed,filmed and produced our video for this most chill song this past weekend. The scenes came out baller, the actors were great and the house party was more fun than anyone could hope for. We had a fireworks scene at midnight and noone called the cops.Proof that Coppitt Drive is the best block in the state of Flo-rida. We should expect a film viewing in about 2 weeks (right on the heels of Pushing Pedals). thank you for checking us out on Grooveshark - we've been noticing the traffic. Last FM is kicking ass and we'll keep you posted on the Pandora debut.

So ... we shot a Video this past weekend and it's going to be stellar! We just had to bring in Jason Wofford / Director,Producer and back of the van driver for this fun filled day on bicycles.We brought out the crew and had some fun filming all throughout Jax. Drinkin' beeaz and gettin' sunburnt. The footage is in Jason's hands and he's working on making a kick-ass video for Pushing Pedals. Next on the docket , we'll be shooting more film for another song this weekend - one ya'll have'nt heard (at least not the newer listeners). Stay tuned - or we'll keep you tuned - You can go to our facebook page and watch a "Making Of.." video to get a taste of what's in store..... Next - we are officially on Grooveshark ! if you like building your own playlists at home without paying for downloads , add 20WT to your playlists and share with your fellow cohorts at work or at partays. Yes, I said partay. Also, we have just teamed up with James Miller , an old J-Ville hoodrat gone Gainesville.He's started a new music site called Listenhere.fm . Any band can jump on this site and it's a great way to promote your music based on location. Basically you can move your mouse around the country and find new bands and what's coming out of every scene in the nation - this site is awesome and we urge any independant artist to jump on - it's free and it takes no time at all. So... How are we enjoying the new album ? Many thanks to all that have purchased it directly from our website - we know who you are - we have our ways.And to those grabbing it on i-tunes , amazon , rhaphsody, etc.. we'll know who you are at the end of the month (or fiscally,quarterly,blah,blah,blah) thanks for joining the Frog Army.We've heard some positive feedback and are glad you are enjoying the new stuff.We certainly can't wait to start playing it LIVE where we fucking belong! We've sent out tons of promos to cities that we don't normally get to , and enjoyed some radio play during prime time hours on Clear Channel stations across the country. Tomorrow , Nov 2nd ( election day , ironically) we will release our finest workks to date. " The Songs Of The Mighty Bullfrog/March Of The Frog Army" , is a collective work that we are proud of and took ALOT of inspiration , sweat, and dilligence to create - (everyone say "thanks Ryan"). It's been a long due process. Lot's of editing,lots of mixing,lots of new experiences on the road , lots of preparation, and lots of contemplation. We are proud to say , however, that this compilation of works , fully represents what we stand for as a band that fully supports it's fans.Much of the material on this "record" is solely about you and the experiences we've had with you good or bad. So , in saying that , Thank you for your support of a true independent band that enjoys playing music for true independent people. 20WT Signs Ditribution Contract W/ In Grooves and Remixes "In a Tree"

We are very excited about our recent partnership w/ In Grooves. They are a digital distribution company that also handles liscensing and marketing. We have submitted our new record to them and it will be available soon on every digital media you can imagine. Yes that includes ring tones so leave me alone. The vinyl will still be produced. Currently we are working on a presale campaign that will launch very soon. Equally exciting, is the remix of "In a Tree There is a Bird Tha Sings". I am working deligently on the remix of an album that didn't reach it's sonic potential. It came to our attention that "In a Tree" was muddy and sounded inferior to "The Songs of the Mighy Bullfrog". We feel the songs deserve a better mix. So off to work I go.

Wow! Wow!Wow! Thank you all so very much for helping us ring in our new album at home in the Jacksonville Landing. Pics are popping up left and right , and www.x1029.com just posted their favorites on their homepage ! Check em out and comment on our sweaty situations. You guys made this event wonderful. As we looked out into the massive crowd all we could think was ... Jax ,Tally,West Palm, Orlando, Tampa,Lakeland , Panama City,Palm Beach, Miami, Ft.Lauderdale, St. Auggy.....and so on. We are still coming down off a high that is irreplaceable. For those of you that hit our merch table in droves - hope you enjoy the new /and old songs. Hope you wear those shirts to all your formal events.i.e church,school,business meetings. Thanks to X102.9 for hosting a fantastis event and inviting a local band to participate. Hey everyone, it's Dave here. If you're as excited as we are, it must be caused by our CD Release show this Sunday (or because you can taste all the beer you'll be drinking, whatever you choose haha)! We have been working on our setlist for the big day for the last 2-3 weeks. The set will be a mix of new and old tunes (mostly new ones, off of "Songs Of The Mighty Bullfrog"). Just a reminder to anyone who forgot, the show will be F-R-E-E! Yes, I said it, F-R-E-E! For this, we want to send a big "Thank You" to Aaron + everyone at x102.9 Jax New Rock, all the sponsors, and the bands for helping to put this on. Don't miss the chance to see some amazing bands at an awesome venue.

VIDEO UPDATES
We've mentioned before about doing interview segments with Wilson, Hooks, and myself. The only problem is that we need YOU to send in those ever-important questions you have for us. Be it music related, to what kind of toothpaste we use, send them in!! The sooner the better!

CD RELEASE

We are very excited to drop this new CD. Just as much as some of you are anxious to hear it. The CD will consist of 6 songs. We are titling this body of work "The Songs of the Mighty Bullfrog". This is to be the A side of our upcoming vinyl release. The B side is being tracked as we speak and ironically enough is more infectious than the A side. We will title the B side "The March of the Frog Army". There will be 5 songs including a cover of Jimmy Cliff's "The Harder They Come". Look for the album in September. You have 4 or 5 months to find or service your record player. We have decided to roll our CD release party into x102.9's "ROCK on the RIVER" concert at the Landing. The Show is FREE on Sunday May 30th (the day before Memorial Day) and starts at 6pm. We go on at 6:20 don't be a minute late. The line up includes THE FLOBOTS, THE CRASH KINGS, PAPER TONGUES and RICHY NIX. Possible after party more details forthcoming. 20WT

"Examiner.com" Review by Marc Ganancias

Next up was a Jacksonville, FL band called 20WT (yes, as in twenty weight motor oil). I had heard the name before, but was not familiar with their music. As I have mentioned in the past, I have a special place in my heart for three-piece bands, especially when they throw down. These guys did, and then some. Here’s where things get tricky...this band mixes Metal & Post-Hardcore guitar riffs, some quick-tempo Punk Rock, Reggae, Ska, and even a little Rocksteady into their sound. The musicianship of each member of the band is absolutely superb, with quick stops and smooth transitions between the styles. These guys change it up so fast, it’ll leave your head spinning (or, maybe that was something else) with powerfully distorted opening sections making seemingly effortless shifts into flowing Reggae, Ska & Rocksteady movements. After the first band raised the bar so high, these guys kept it soaring through the rest of the night. I’m still trying to place their sound...something like The Police of the late 70s would be like if they met with a freak temporal genetic accident with Quicksand, The Specials, Slayer, Tom Morello, and Madness. Take a second to figure that one out. Vocalist/guitarist Wilson clearly has vocal influences from Sting, and his intricate guitar work has virtuosity written all over it. Bassist J. Hooks has a heavy low-end, while walking up and down the neck. He was a little buried in the main mix, but it was obvious that he was doing some serious work. Drummer Dave has a lot of Stuart Copeland in his style, and held the band together like a machine. These chaps also like to party, and they have an unapologetic sense of humor in their banter between songs. An excellent set from a band I am looking forward to seeing live again soon.

Hey hey everyone (or no-one, whoever is reading BWAHAHAHA)! Sorry for the lack of updates lately, we've been recording, taking time to relax and enjoy this thing called life, and I (Dave) just celebrated a birthday this past Monday. I'm gonna take this chance to try and let everyone in on the recent happenings of the band, so here we gooooo!!

Recording: All the music for the songs have been completed, with 3 tracks having vocals (3 more to go). As far as when the songs will be posted online, it is hopefully going to be within 2-3 weeks. I must say, personally, the songs sound amazing (and that is having only hearing the raw tracks, no mixing, no EQ's, no effects at all). They always say you learn from the past, and all of us have stepped up our game making this album. We've pushed our limits with our respective instruments, and nothing but good has come out. I'll post more info as it comes.

Shows: We we're supposed to play back on Jan 23rd @ Swampgrass Willy's (Palm Beach Gardens, FL), but due to us being behind on tracking, we could not make it. The downside of tracking is once microphones are set up, they should not be moved for any reason. When that happens, you'll never achieve the same sounds you had. BUT!!! We will be back down there on March 19th, so if you showed up to see us and didn't get to, no worries! On Feb 6th we played Will's Pub, which was a crazy show for us. With recording, I think all 3 of us we're a bit rusty on our set, but like riding a bike, it came back with little to no "problems" (i.e., us making spastic noise that we think sounds good, but doesn't HAHA!)

Merch: Wilson has recently acquired a vinyl-cutting machine. This means that we can make stickers ranging from 6" tall to almost 1'6"-2' tall, with the length coming to whatever we choose. We've also been batting around ideas for new possible shirt designs or stickers, so if anyone has any ideas, feel free to get ahold of us. If we happen to us your idea, we will compensate you by sending you some of the merch you helped create for free. So, get that creative juice flowing people!

Well, i've gotta get going, make sure to keep up with the shows, and come out when you can. We love seeing all of your faces at shows, and let's have a massive DAS BOOT!!!!
